Timed holds and releases — follow the rep counter in the mirror.
Face Yoga Guide
Lateral Nose Shorten Index Hold places a light index pad on the side of the nose tip for four-second holds across eight reps. It builds gentle lateral-tip awareness without under-tip lift or septal jamming. Skip irritated nasal skin and uncleared nose procedures.
On the cover, the right index pad rests on the lateral side of the nose tip (not under the tip), other fingers curled, face calm. This lateral nose shorten index hold differs from Nose Tip Index Lift Hold (pad under the tip, vertical lift cue) and Nose-Bridge Soft Press (both pads high near the inner eye corners).
Sit upright at an eye-level mirror. Soften the jaw. Place one index pad on the side of the nose tip as on the cover—about 2/10 light pressure, without jamming the septum or diving into the nostril opening. Hold four seconds with quiet nostrils and a calm forehead. Release two seconds. Repeat eight holds, then switch sides if desired.
Neutral neck, mirror at eye level, jaw soft before the index contacts the side of the nose tip.
Inhale before placing the index. Exhale during the four-second soft hold. Release on a calm inhale.
Short mirror phrases — calm, specific, easy to repeat between reps.
"Index on the side of the tip—not under it."
"Two-out-of-ten light press."
"Forehead stays quiet."
"Four-second calm hold."
Realistic checkpoints — form, sleep, and SPF still matter more than any single drill.
Lateral tip contact awareness becomes clearer and lighter.
Less forehead compensation during nasal holds for many users.
Steadier low-load nasal soft-tissue pacing.
Reliable maintenance hold for gentle nasal tip hygiene.
Form cues, safety notes, and how this drill differs from nearby guides.
Tip Lift places the pad under the tip for a vertical lift cue. This drill places the pad on the side of the tip for a lateral shorten-awareness cue.
Bridge Soft Press uses both indexes high near the inner eye corners. This drill uses one index on the side of the tip.
It may support awareness habits; visible shape change varies and is not guaranteed.
About 2/10. Soft contact only—never jam the septum.
Yes. The landmark is clear and the load stays low when pressure is light.
Yes if comfortable. Finish one side, rest, then switch.
About four short sessions weekly is enough for most users.
You are compensating. Lower effort and keep the brows quiet.
Skip during nasal irritation, open skin, acute sinus tenderness, or uncleared nose procedures.
Prefer separate days so nasal pressure does not stack in one session.
No. Keep nostrils quiet so the cue stays on the lateral tip contact.
Track smoother midface awareness in short practice logs—small consistency wins matter.
